Restoration and Conservation of Paintings

Irish Jewish Museum

Painting Appeal Collage

Some time ago we asked for financial assistance for the restoration and conservation of some of the museum’s most important paintings.

As a result of a very generous grant of €3,000 from the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht together with a number of contributions from friends of the museum the paintings have been conserved and will again be on display in the museum.

The Department of the Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht has supported the museum over the last four years with various projects including archiving and the provision of services to the public. Without their support we could never have achieved the success we have in protecting the collection.

While our most important paintings have now been protected the museum has a large collection of paintings and photographs which require conservation work. It is our intention to continue to seek financial support for this work into the future and your help will be much appreciated.
