Colum Kenny takes as his starting point a poem published twice by James Larkin in Larkin’s Irish Worker in 1911. This was entitled “The Jewess and her Son.” He explores attitudes towards Jews in Ireland before independence. Signs of antisemitism among socialists will be placed in the context of other references to Jews in both the mainstream and agitational press.
