Although Jews lived and thrived in Poland for almost a thousand years until the Holocaust, the Polish Catholic Church had a long history of antisemitism. In this talk, Yanky explores the relationship between the Church and the Jews through the prism of three 20th century events that shocked the world: The 1941 massacre in Jedwabne; the 1946 pogrom in Kielce; and the 1980’s Auschwitz convent scandal.
