To coincide with the anniversary of the November Pogrom (Kristallnacht) HETI is pleased to invite you to a Public Lecture. Hosted by HETI, in association with the School of History, University College Dublin lecturer and historian, Michael Fleming.
This lecture will discuss how the Polish Government in Exile disseminated information about German atrocities and war crimes taking place in occupied Poland. The lecture will provide an overview of how knowledge about war crimes developed and offers an outline of the activities of the Polish War Crimes Office and its co-operation with the United Nations War Crimes Commission. The lecture will conclude with some general reflections on how engagement with the documentation of the United Nations War Crimes Commission may offer a fresh perspective on post-war justice and the early Cold War.
