The Irish Jewish Museum welcomes you to visit us in the heart of what was once the Jewish quarter of Portobello. Here you will find memorabilia from Jewish life in Ireland in the early 1900’s. Joyce set Ulysses in 1904, an important year for the burgeoning Jewish community, and he placed Leopold Bloom as the novel’s central character. How did Bloom fit into this community? How did Joyce experience it?
